FlashPepper hot on the scene with IntoxiKate at Benjamin’s Steakhouse in White Plains, NY
FlashPepper hot on the scene with IntoxiKate at Benjamin’s Steakhouse in White Plains, NY. This girl can plan an event. Bringing together several, and we mean between thirty and fifty, local Foodies on a Wednesday night. Can you hear me Chefs? A Wednesday night. Is your location hopping on a Wednesday night? Just sayin.
About Kate Schlientz from her website: Writer and social media celebrity Katie Schlientz has over ten years’ experience in the publishing industry. In 2013, she launched IntoxiKate.com, a website committed to introducing fellow foodies to the best food, events and restaurants in and around Westchester County (NY). Shortly after its launch, IntoxiKate became a vehicle for food events, connecting restaurants and chefs with diners in new, innovative ways.
This particular event was a three course, prix fix with a nice variety from Benjamin’s menu. The room was private, the mingling perfect, the hosts charming and the atmosphere playful. The set up was an extended banquet table beautifully dressed with additional tables around the parameter for those “ladies night out groups” that use Kate’s events as their impetus.
The staff was at your beck and call and professional with the exception of one who forgot to ask how you’d like your steak…ok that was an important question but the faux paus was rectified quickly and gracefully. And luckily it seemed the only people affected were the FlashPepper team. Why was that lucky? Because we understand full on production events can sometimes (sometimes?) bring these little missteps and just stresses the value of training in both the back and the front of the house.
Kate’s unique background in both journalism and marketing, and oh yes she taught social media and blogging, position her perfectly to design these events, make them relevant and get the word out through multiple sources. Her true gift is getting people eager to attend.
Cameras are welcome, actually encouraged, upload @s and #s were provided for both IntoxiKate and Benjamin’s social media sites to make things easy and interesting. To create even more social media buzz part of the event was to write a review on Google which would get you a gift certificate for future dining. Future dining Chefs… Oh so smart Kate…
For those Chefs trying to make a name for themselves and their establishments people like Kate Schlientz are in your neighborhood, seek them out and then work with them to bring a fresh young Foodie crowd to your neck of the woods. If you’re in Westchester (NY) the choice is clear.
